Kitty gets a toy.

And she feels she must continue to inspect my knittings for any dangerous or fun loving beasties that may lurk within the skeins.

2 Pairs Completed

I had enough size 4 DPNs to do 2 socks at the same time. And enough yarn in 2 skeins of James Brett Marble for both pairs.
Daughters differ from mine in having ribbing down to the toes.

Socks

I missed taking the knitting class, so I signed up for the next Saturday class at my LYS.
Socks... who would of thunk...

First time on DPNs

Daughter was excited. She wanted the gauntlets from Interweave Knits Fall 2007. The pattern is fair isle. I converted it to my gauge and a multi colored yarn.

Starting the bobbles on the first row of my DPNs was not easy.. but am happy with the results. I retained the purl rows from the pattern to give texture. She picked out the yarn. The yarn is Freedom Spirit by Twilleys of Stamford. 100% wool.

scarf tied hat

I knit this from a pattern in Knit Simple magazine. I substituted Lamb's Pride Worsted and used a size 9 needle.
I found an error in the pattern. Figured out what it should be. I wrote to the magazine and happily their correction matched what I had already done.
I finished this in August, and daughter has been anxious for the snow that finally arrived this week!

knitting class - vest

I finished my vest on Aug 10th. The same day my 4 session knitting class finished. What fun! I used circulars. Knitted Continental Style while the teacher was teaching English method. And just fell in love all over again with knitting and yarn.
The yarn is Plymouth Encore.
I still need to block it. Why is that so intimidating? And also need some nice buttons.

another dishcloth

I decided to sign up for a knitting refresher class and made another dish cloth in prep.

To Knit Again

After a decade of not knitting, I decided to restart with some dish cloths. I had partially knitted the first(blue) when I decided to learn continental style.

The great thing about the dish cloths was that I didn't worry about mistakes.
